Firstly the brand has tested this feature for the Group chats and now for the Channels. Let’s take a closer look to this testing.
WhatsApp is rolling out a new update in which it is working on a well familiar option Polls for sharing it within channels. However Meta introduced this option firstly in Instagram and then WhatsApp but only within the group chats. Now it is working for sharing the polls in channels also. The update has arrived with its own build number which is 2.23.24.12. However, for now the update is in the developing stage and only available for some of the lucky beta testers.
Once the update gets widely rolled out, then the owners of the channels will get the ability to create and share polls in their channels. This polls option within channels will incorporate the options to restrict responses to a single choice. The users already have this option in their chats and groups. Noticeably, the polls votes will always be secured for added privacy, which means that whenever the users will participate in a channel’s poll, then their phone number constantly remains hidden and is not revealed with the channel owner and other followers.
However, poll features seem necessary for channels, because due to this the channel owners will get a tool to gather feedback from channel followers, also the followers will get a more connected vibe than ever with the community as a whole.
As mentioned above for now the update is in the developing stage and only available for only some of the lucky beta testers. The interested ones can get it through Google Play Beta Program. Whereas it is expected that soon the brand will roll out this feature for enhancing the channel’s experience by an upcoming update.
