Samsung is this close to delivering an Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update to all its eligible devices. In contrast, the Galaxy S23 in a few regions has already received a stable version of the One UI 6.0 update. The brand, with this new update, delivers tons of new features, improvements, and changes. The noticeable change that has arrived with this update is the way internal storage capacity is appearing in the My Files application.

It is being speculated that a notice from Samsung’s side to Galaxy users through the Members application informing the users that the My Files application has been upgraded along with One UI 6.0 to display the actual storage in the base 10, this time with binary notation changed to base 10 notation; for instance – 1GB=1,000*1,000*1,000*1,000 bytes.

In the notice, the brand stated that;

Changing the way the internal storage capacity is displayed in One UI 6.0”

For users who are using versions till One UI 5.1, the storage capacity of the Galaxy series was calculated using the mechanism of a binary system in the My Files application. The brand stated that it is going with this change to avoid confusion and in response to customer requests.

According to the issued notice, it is known that there may be a difference in the capacity display within the My Files application that uses base 10 notation for the apps that use binary notation. At the moment, it appears that the brand is within no time to release the stable version of the One UI 6.0 update.
