ChatGPT Voice Chat Feature Is Now Available To All Users On Android & iOS

HIGHLIGHTS
  • OpenAI has now released the ChatGPT Voice Chat feature for all users.
  • This feature was previously available for Plus and Enterprise subscribers.
  • This rolling out came when OpenAI had messy arguments and the return of Sam Altman.

OpenAI has officially announced through X, that the service is introducing a new voice chat feature on ChatGPT for all the users on both the Android and iOS devices, which was earlier limited to Plus as well as Enterprise subscribers.

The voice chat feature is now gradually rolling out to all the users on phones, allowing users to get involved in a real-time conversation with the AI chatbot.

After recognizing the possible risks associated with the ability to create lively synthetic voices from the minimalist speech samples, the OpenAI chose to entirely concentrate on ChatGPT’s voice feature to make the conversations easier.

This feature works with the help of text-to-speech models, which generate human-like voices from the text and brief speech samples.

With that, several users have already got the Voice chat feature in their ChatGPT, allowing them to easily access the conversations with the chatbot, while most of the users are yet to get this feature on their Android devices.

In addition, Elon Musk, who was a former member of OpenAI has canceled his membership with the AI Chatbot and describes that it’s a fast-approaching threat, and in an interview, he also stated that “Mark my words, OpenAI is very dangerous”.

In the meantime, recently on 17th November, the OpenAI’s Members of Directory fired Sam Altman, and after a week’s pause, OpenAI reinstated Altman as CEO, alongside Creg Brockman also departed as President of Open but then he was also brought back to his former role, and now it’s yet to see whether the OpenAI will be a helpful tool or a dangerous threat.
