Huawei has recently introduced its brand new Nova series of smartphones in its hometown tech market. Let’s take a closer look.
Huawei announced a brand new smartphone, the Nova 12 series, which has four variants –
- Nova 12
- Nova 12 Lite
- Nova 12 Pro
- Nova 12 Ultra

Huawei Nova Ultra and Nova 12 Pro feature a curved display with rounded corners and curved edges. On the back side, it has rear features, the well-known pill-shaped camera island. It is an easy-to-carry device; the users will not feel like a burden as it weighs just 198 grams. Meanwhile, the Nova 12 Pro weighs 201 grams. Also, the two devices are equal measures in width, which is just 7.68mm.
Nova 12 Pro and Nova 12 Ultra feature a 6.76-inch OLED display along with a refresh rate of 120Hz, Full HD+ resolution of 2776 x 1224 and a pill-shaped camera cutout that carries two selfie image sensors. Whereas the Ultra model has arrived with Kunlus glass, which the brand claims to be “unbreakable”.
The Nova 12 Ultra and 12 Pro are pretty similar but have a minor difference which is in chipsets; both are equipped with Kirin 9000SL and Kirin 8000, respectively. These chipsets support 5G networking. The memory package includes 12GB of RAM for both devices, whereas the internal storage is up to 512 GB for the Pro model and 1TB for the Ultra model.
This Nova 12 series runs on HarmonyOS 4.0 out of the box. The battery package has a 4,6000mAh battery with the support of 100W wired fast charging. The catch is Nova 12 Pro and Nova 12 Ultra are both powered by satellite connectivity. The camera setup includes a 50 MP primary camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide angle lens. On the flip side, the selfie camera is 60 MP main ultra-wide angle and 8 MP portrait.
