They now play a crucial role in many workflows, and Microsoft’s Copilot, an Android app running on Open AI models GPT-4 and DALL-E 3, is the latest chatbot to arrive on the Play Store. ChatGPT, the free version of Copilot, is different in that it cannot access real-time information on the web and can produce only outdated responses.

Microsoft rebranded its chatbot from Bing Chat to Copilot and launched a dedicated web page for the renamed product. The new Android app has a clean, simple interface similar to ChatGPT. It provides users with an easy-to-use chat assistant that requires sign-in only for those features outside its design scope.

According to recent reports,copilot.microsoft.com, the Copilot app has already been available on Play Store for nearly a week. But an iOS version for iPhone users has yet to be released. With Microsoft’s cleanest chatbot to date, the app harnesses Open AI’s strong GPT-4 and DALL-E 3 models. It wants to give users a clean, uncluttered, and undistracted interface and downplays convenience.

Copilot is part of Microsoft’s strategic thrust into the AI stage and represents another step forward in leveraging its massive investment in artificial intelligence. The app also allows for complex text-based communications, but users can directly create the visuals and text descriptions right within the application. It goes beyond traditional chatbot functions in this respect as well.
