WhatsApp’s New Update Has Arrive With A Feature To Add Verified Channel Badge

  • WhatsApp rolls out a new update with a feature named Add verified channel badge.
  • It is working on an optional feature for businesses to add a verified badge to their channels.
  • The update has arrived with its own identification build number, which is v2.24.1.18.

WhatsApp is back with a new update to enhance the user experience by offering a new feature named Add verified channel badge.

WhatsApp, through this update, is working on an optional feature for businesses to add a verified badge to their channels. However, for now, the brand has rolled out this feature for testing. For now, the update is in the beta stage, and it is expected that the brand will soon make it available in more regions.

The update has arrived with its own identification build number, which is v2.24.1.18, so the users can easily find out the update by this version number. Since the update is in the beta stage, it is only available to some of the lucky beta testers. The interested ones can directly get this update through the Google Play Beta Program.

With this new beta update, WhatsApp is working on a new screen for businesses to permit users to add a verified badge to their channels. It is expected that businesses will get the power to get a verified badge for their channels by just subscribing to Meta Verified.

The catch here is that the Meta Verified subscription will be optional and exclusively accessible to businesses. Also, the brand has decided that the feature to add a verified badge to channels will not be extended to individual users and non-business accounts, and the channel details must always align with the complementary business details to avert impersonation and the verification system’s misuse.

For now, the feature is in the developing stage and will soon be available to all users. For now, users can get this update through the Google Play Beta Program.
