The Honor 90 5G debuted in September 2023 and has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 CPU and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 30W wired SuperCharge technology. HTech CEO Madhav Sheth has confirmed that the device, which runs Magic OS 7.1 based on Android 13, is now compatible with Jio eSIM connectivity in India.

The eSIM can be used in addition to a real SIM card because the phone supports dual SIM. It needs to be clarified whether a 5G connection is part of the eSIM support, as the current compatibility is limited to the Jio network. Furthermore, it’s unclear if the business intends to work with other Indian telecom providers to provide eSIM functionality.

Pricing for the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB RAM and storage models of the Honor 90 5G at launch was Rs. 37,999 and Rs. 39,999, respectively. Still, it’s presently on sale at Amazon Great Republic Day Sale 2024 through January 19 for a discounted price of Rs. 28,999.

A 6.7-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a 5,000mAh battery with 30W wired fast charging, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC round out the specifications of this smartphone. In addition to a 50-megapixel sensor on the front camera, this device’s triple back camera system includes a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel shooter, and a 200-megapixel primary sensor.

How To Activate The Jio eSIM

 1. Online Conversion Limited: Jio still needs to offer an online tool for turning a physical SIM card into an electronic SIM card.

2. Activation in Person: Users must visit a Jio Store or Reliance Digital shop and present the IMEI number of the eSIM-compatible phone—which can be found by dialing *#06#—to activate their Jio eSIM.

3. Form of Customer Acquisition: Users fill out a Customer Acquisition Form (CAF) at the store with the information needed to activate their eSIM.

4. Creating QR Codes: Jio eSIM activation is made easier by using the supplied data to create a QR code that functions similarly to Airtel’s procedure.
