How Many Software Updates Will Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 and A9+ Get?

After Google, only Samsung has  the true commitment to provide much better and increased software updates to its Galaxy devices. In a similar context, most of its Galaxy devices tend to receive increased software support, primarily due to the brand’s latest Android update policy. However, the older Galaxy models, including the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 and A9+, will see three major OS updates along with four years of security patches, respectively.

Software updates are very essential in keeping Android smartphones safe and bring several new features and enhancements that tend to refresh the UI, making it last longer for at least a year or two. Every smartphone maker, whether big or small, including Samsung, offers software updates by following their Android update policy.

At the same time, Samsung has promised that the Galaxy Tab A9 series, including the Galaxy Tab A9 and A9+, will receive 3 software upgrades and 4 years of security patches. Launched in October with Android 13-based One UI 5.1 out of the box, the Galaxy Tab A9 and Tab A9+ will get new features and enhancements until Android 16, while the Tab A9 and A9+ will get their monthly security patches up to 4 years, respectively, until 2027. 

However, Samsung seems to be upgrading its Android update policy for several Galaxy devices, including its budget-focused, mid-range, and flagships, respectively. Simultaneously, it will be highly impressive to see whether Samsung will make improvements within its Android update policy for its older Galaxy devices, which are still limited to two or three OS update promises.
