Is OnePlus Ace 3V Waterproof?

With the latest growing trend, several smartphone manufacturers have begun offering water repellent properties within their phones, while the OnePlus is no different. OnePlus has just launched its latest smartphone, the OnePlus Ace 3V, in its own country, China. This Chinese model has arrived with several impressive features, but most prominently, does the phone come with an IP rating? Is the new OnePlus Ace 3V waterproof?

Ultimately, OnePlus has offered an IP65 rating to the new OnePlus Ace 3V, according to which the brand claims that the phone is both dustproof and waterproof, respectively. Simultaneously, the IP, or Ingress Protection Rating, is a standard protection mark that’s provided to the device when it’s being tested against two ingresses, solid and liquid. In contrast, read on! Here’s the complete explanation.

The first digit of an IP rating simply indicates that the phone has undergone testing against solid ingress, specifically dust, while the second digit indicates protection against liquid ingress, specifically water. So, in terms of the OnePlus Ace 3V, the phone has an IP65 rating, and as mentioned, the brand has claimed that the device is dustproof and waterproof, as the first digit of an IP rating is 6, which is considered the highest mark of protection against fine dust particles, making it a dustproof phone.

On the flip side, the second digit in the IP rating of the Ace 3V is 5, which is for liquid ingress like water, and this means that the phone can easily withstand splashes of water, making it highly capable of easily coping with sudden changing environments. In addition, OnePlus claims that the OnePlus Ace 3V has been incorporated with the new rain touch algorithm, which makes the phone’s screen highly touch-ssensitive even when it’s wet.
