WhatsApp Will Allow Users to Disable Link Previews, Currently Available to Some Beta Testers

WhatsApp always ensures to make things easier by introducing certain useful functionalities for its users, and that’s what makes it a widely used instant messaging application across the globe. In the series of bringing new and latest features, the Meta-owned application is now rolling out a new capability that will significantly allow users to disable their link previews. 

As the report shared by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is rolling out a new ability through the latest WhatsApp beta for Android having As pers a build version of, with which users will easily be able to disable the link previews, and with that, users will have more control over their privacy to avoid the automatic generation of certain links that are shared within the chats. 

Moreover, the ability to disable the link previews will significantly protect your IP address from being misused by certain third-party websites, and the links shared within the chats cannot be generated. Thus, this eliminates the risk of several exposed browsing activities through various third-party sites. 

On the flip side, the new Disable Link Previews option has been added within the Advanced tab under WhatsApp’s settings and can be easily toggled off for much more safety and privacy. However, the third-party entities will be able to generate link previews from those who haven’t disabled the option. Thus, this privacy feature will certainly focus on providing enhanced protection, and users could have more control over their online activities. 

With that, the latest privacy option, Disable Link Previews, is currently available to certain beta testers, while the feature will be expanded to more users over the coming days. Additionally, beta testers can gain new capabilities by installing the latest version of WhatsApp beta for Android.
