Android 15 Will Introduce a New Private Space Feature; Here’s How It Works

Smartphone technologies have become too advanced in modern times, prioritizing user’s safety and privacy. This significantly prevents several people from accessing our personal data. With that, users would always have wanted to add an additional layer of safety so that their personal data would be secured even if the phone were lost. Similarly, we could expect this capability with the upcoming Android 15

Private Space Feature To Come Alongside Android 15

With the arrival of Android 15, things will get better, as it will arrive with a new feature named as Private Space. Meanwhile, Google is currently working on Android 15, while the company has already released two developer previews. However, Google has not officially introduced the new Private Space feature, but it was first spotted with the Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2.1 update.

Android 15 is highly anticipated to bring numerous features and enhancements. Indeed, one such is the Private Space feature. The Private Space feature will come with Android 15 under the hood. The feature will significantly allow users to keep their essential files, photos, videos, and documents in a separate yet secure place, similar to what Samsung introduced with the Secure Folder. In other words, you can hide all your sensitive yet important data from others.

It’s surprising that the new Private Space feature has not yet been spotted on the latest running Android 15 Developer Preview 2. However, Google is preparing to announce a wide range of features and other improvements for the Android ecosystem at the I/O developer conference, which will be held on May 14th.

How Does Private Space Work?

In order to set up Private Space, you need to head to the Settings app >> Security & privacy >> Private Space. Once you have entered into the Private Space tab, you will be required to verify that it’s you. Then, you need to sign into your Google account in order to add applications to the Private Space. To some extent, it’s recommended that you have a different screen lock, as it will increase the threat of a data leak. Also, this will further increase your security, as even if someone knows your phone’s screen password, they won’t be able to access your Private Space.
