[Updated] Redmi Note 8 gets new update with January 2021 security patch

Xiaomi is rolling out a new MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 8 in India, the new update brings January 2021 security patch on MIUI version V12.0.2.0.QCOINXM based on Android 10.

The January 2021 security patch already started hitting select Poco C3 and Redmi 9A devices, now The newest security patch for the Redmi Note 8– dated January 5th, 2021 – started reaching the global from Xiaomi’s mid-range.

The update rolls out over the air on Android 10 based MIUI firmware number V12.0.3.0.QCOMIXM and it fixes noise could be heard when the screen was turned off in some cases.

It is surprising to see the Redmi Note 8 getting the new security patch ahead of newer high-end phones from the company. We expect Xiaomi to expand the new security patch to other markets and other devices soon.
