WhatsApp Rolled Out New Beta Update for Security Tool

Meta-owned Whatsapp is rolling out a new beta update, which can only be available for a few selected beta testers. Several types of updates are coming on Whatsapp, in which bugs get fixed, some of them come out with general improvements, meanwhile, some are related to entertainment enhancement. But apart from all of these, this time the update arrives with new security facilities.

The update has its identification build number, which is as 2.23.16.6 firmware version.

WhatsApp released this update, with a great safety tool, which will surely enhance the user’s security and privacy. It has 2.7 million monthly active users, and it is a huge number in itself. But apart from this a problem arises: what to do with the message that comes from unknown numbers, and it is a kind of frustrating issue.

So as per the resolution of this issue, WhatsApp released a new feature, which includes a security tool for receiving unknown messages. But for now, this tool is only available for the beta users.

Now if the users receive messages from unknown phone numbers for the first time, the safety tool will pop up and suggest suggestions for the users. For instance, Blocking and Report Contact both were present already in the app, apart from these two other options, which are available now “Profile name and Photo” and the other is “Phone number”.

In the “Profile name and Photo option the users can view the profile picture and name of the person who sent the message. Whereas in “Phone number” the users will get to know the unknown phone number of which country. With this update WhatsApp not only give information about the person who sends the message from an unknown number, but also suggest some option for how to deal with it

And another new feature is when the users receive a message from an unknown number and read it so, the sender will not get to know that you have seen the message until the user chooses to reply or add the number to the contact list.

However, this update is only available now for the beta users, expected soon it will be available for all users.
