Galaxy S23 Unlocked Variant Gets July 2023 Security Update In The US

Samsung has been continuously rolling out the July 2023 update for Galaxy devices over the past few days; The South Korean tech company has already delivered two flagship devices of the Galaxy S series, i.e., Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S23. However, the patch was limited to T-Mobile versions of the Galaxy S23 series phones. Now, the company has launched the unlocked variants of Galaxy S23 series phones.

Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra are now getting the July 2023 security update in the US; It is worth noting that the update is available for the unlocked variants of the device, which means it is available on almost all major carrier networks.

Users of the unlocked version of the Galaxy S23 can quickly identify the latest update by the firmware version numbers S911U1UES1AWFD, S916U1UES1AWFD, and S918U1UES1AWFD. It is expected that more locked variants will also get the update in the next few days.

The update brings valuable security enhancements to the flagship device, ensuring users enjoy a secure experience while working on their useful features. It may also include fixes for some known security vulnerabilities that Samsung will disclose soon.

In markets where the update is available, such as the US, Galaxy S23 series users will be able to install the July 2023 patch by opening the Settings app on their phones, accessing “Software Update,” and tapping “Download and Install” Needed.

Samsung introduced the Galaxy S23 earlier this year; The device hit the market with Android 13 pre-installed, and currently, the device is running on One UI 5.1 based on Android 13. As per the Samsung update policy, the device will be eligible for four major updates till Android 17.
