Android 13-based FuntouchOS 13 update released for iQOO 9 SE 

Beginning of the year, iQOO launched its flagship iQOO 9 SE smartphone in India with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, 120Hz AMOLED display, 48 MP triple camera, 4500mAh battery, and more outstanding features. 

iQOO 9 SE comes pre-installed with FuntouchOS 12 based on the Android 12 operating system. Recently, the Chinese tech giant has started rolling out the first major Android 13-based FuntouchOS 13 software update for iQOO 9SE smartphone users in India.

According to the information, iQOO 9SE’s Android 13-based FuntouchOS 13 firmware update carries a FuntouchOS build number “PD2154CF_EX_A_36.3.9”, and users will have to download this major update around 5.28 GB of weight size. Plus, This major update comes with a lot of new features and improvements alongside the September 2022 Android security patch update for better device security and stability. 

As per the changelog, this initial update comes with a bunch of new highlights including, new UI-colour and Monochrome icons, a Taskbar in the Notification center, a Phone cooling feature to iManager, App pinning, and Screen pinning, and a new AQI card for air quality, 

Moreover, this update added a Photo picker to provide a more secure way to share media, and a Hidden photos and videos feature that allows hiding the photos and videos in Albums. For more information, do check the complete changelog to this update

iQOO 9SE Android 13-based FuntouchOS 13 Changelog:

  • UI color & Monochrome icon
    • Added more color types to the color palette in Colour adaptation and allowed colors to be applied to home screen icons.
  • Task manager
    • Provided Task manager in the Notification center, showing running tasks and the duration for which each app has run, allowing the user to view details and stop apps at any time.
  • Notify when run
    • Added the Notify when running permission and subdivided the Media data permission.
  • Quick Settings tile
    • Allowed apps to actively add switches to the Control center so that users can easily add Control center switches for the apps.
  • Photo picker
    • Provided a more secure way to share media without granting apps access to the entire media library.
  • Hidden photos & videos
    • Provided users with the feature of hiding photos and videos in Albums, which improves the security of Albums and protects user privacy
  • Phone cooling
    • Added the Phone cooling feature to iManager. By reducing the running of apps, the CPU frequency will be intelligently towered to reduce overheating.
  • App pinning & Screen pinning
    • Added two fixation modes to enhance privacy protection when phones are temporarily refined or shared. App pinning allows the other party to only access a certain set of the app. Screen pinning allows the other party to only access apps on a certain set screen.
  • Accessibility for Setup Wizard
    • Upgraded Accessibility features in Setup Wizard to support more Accessibility features, such as Colour correction, Colour inversion, and Remove animations. 

How To Update:

Firstly, go to Settings of the device and then scroll down and tap on the System update, from here, wait for a while for the latest update and tap on the Download button. Finally, tap on the Install tab.
