Is the Realme C67 5G and C67 4G Waterproof?

It’s been a while since Realme has unveiled the two most budget-focused smartphones within its C series, the Realme C67 5G and the Realme C67 4G, in both the 4G and 5G variants, respectively. Both devices consist of several features and specs, one of which is the IP certification. In contrast, most brands try to incorporate the best possible IP ratings within their devices, while Realme is no different. Both the devices, the Realme C67 5G and C67 4G, come with IP ratings, but are the devices waterproof?

The quick answer is no! The C67 5G and C67 4G are not waterproof; rather, they are claimed to be water-resistant. Realme has offered IP54 ratings to both devices, which means that both devices are only capable of tolerating water splashes, rain drops, and dust particles. They aren’t designed to handle submersion in water. In contrast, here’s the full explanation:

Is the Realme C67 5G and C67 4G Waterproof?

The IP54 ratings in terms of the C67 5G and C67 4G mean that the devices are resistant to dust and water, respectively. In an IP, or Ingress Protection Rating, the first digit signifies that the device is protected against solid ingress, which is fine dust particles or sand, while the second digit highlights the protection against liquid ingress, which is water. Simultaneously, “the higher the IP ratings, the greater the protection.”.

So, well, with regards to the C67 5G and C67 4G, the devices have an IP54 rating, while the first digit is 6, which makes them entirely dustproof as they can easily handle fine dust and sand particles. On the flip side, the second digit is 4, which means the devices are water resistant but not proof and can only handle water drops and splashes. Submerging them in water can cause harm.
