This time it brings updates in Wallpapers on Whatsapp and has four major updates. This update includes custom chat wallpapers, additional doodle wallpapers, an updated stock wallpaper gallery, and the ability to set separate wallpapers for light and dark mode settings. Earlier, WhatsApp users could set just one wallpaper for all chats including groups and individuals.

Now users can set custom chat wallpapers for each individual chats and group. And when the user will switch the setting of his phone from light to dark and dark to light, WhatsApp mode will also change accordingly. Users can also pick a photo from their phone gallery to make it into a custom wallpaper. Once you have picked they can swipe the screen left or right to preview it. This is available for both Android and iOS users.
How to adjust the brightness of chat wallpaper in WhatsApp
- Open the WhatsApp app on your Android smartphone.
- Tap on three dots on the top right corner
- Tap on settings
- Go to the “Chats” section.
- Tap on the “Wallpaper” option
- At the bottom, you can adjust the wallpaper light by using Wallpaper Dimming feature
If you didn’t any wallpaper yet so first set new wallpaper:
In this option, you will see bright, dark solid colors & my photos
- Browse the photo which you want to set and tap a photo to preview it.
- Then, tap the “Set Wallpaper” option.
Note: From the pop-up dialogue, make sure that you select the “For This Chat” option and tap the “OK” button.
If you want to remove the custom wallpaper, Tap the Menu button.
