  • Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Tab S8 5G have received a new security update.

A few days ago, Samsung started rolling out the October 2023 security update for its smartphones. After Galaxy S21, Galaxy S22, and Galaxy S23, it is now the turn of Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, and Galaxy Tab S8 5G to get a new security update.

The company currently makes the One UI October 2023 security update available for the Galaxy Note 20 in Europe and the US region. Unlike the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Tab S8, the update is being released in Latin America or Europe respectively. Therefore, owners of these particular devices experiencing degradation in the mentioned areas are eligible to upgrade their devices to the latest security patch.

Moving forward, this firmware is likely to fix problems and errors you encountered after installing previous software and make system apps and functions more reliable. Meanwhile, for security enhancements, the Korean tech giant addresses several vulnerabilities and risks to keep your private files and data safe on the device. These are a total of 46 issue fixes that include 34 CVE items from Google’s Android Security Bulletin.

Apart from these, the official changelog of the update notes improvements to several stock One UI apps via the update. Although the changelog doesn’t specify what changes and enhancements these apps are getting, you might have received them after installing the new update for your above-mentioned phones.
