Verizon Galaxy S20 FE 5G gets July 2022 security update in the US

Samsung has already released the July 2022 security patch for its Galaxy S20 FE smartphone users in Europe, India, and North American countries; now, it’s time to expand the update for the carrier-locked device in the US.

Verizon has started rolling out the Android July 2022 security update for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G users. According to the changelog, we didn’t see any major change or the latest version. The update not only fixes many security-related issues but also improves the overall user experience. The update comes with a firmware version G781VSQU6FVG3.

With the latest July 2022 security patch, 41 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures were addressed. They concern aspects like Samsung Finder, Wearable Manager Installer, Contacts storage, the Messages app, Knoxguard lock, and more. You can find the complete list of fixes here.

Samsung security index (SSI), found in “Security software version”, SMR Jul-2022 Release 1, includes all patches from Samsung and Google. Some of the SVE items may not be included in this package in case these items were already included in a previous maintenance release.

Steps to download and install the update:

  1. First of all, go to the Settings
  2. Then find the Software update options and
  3. After that, Tap on Download and install.
