Irrespective of the brand being big or small, every smartphone will end up receiving the major OS updates forever. Each smartphone brand, including Samsung, has fixed a significant deadline for providing the major OS updates for their devices, and once the deadline is reached, the device will be discontinued for any new update.
Similar is the case with the security patches as well. With that, let’s now have a look at those eligible devices, whose major Android OS updates and security patch updates have been finally discontinued by Samsung.
In contrast, as with other smartphone manufacturers, Samsung also offers its own software update policy for each of its Galaxy devices and significantly fixes a deadline, while once the deadline is reached, the brand automatically stops providing the major OS and security updates to those devices.

Galaxy Devices: End of Major OS Update Support
Samsung has added a number of Galaxy devices that have now ended up receiving new major OS updates, while the Android 14-based One UI 6 is their last major OS update. These devices mostly include Samsung’s A, M, and F series devices, along with a few tablets as well.
The devices that will receive or have already received the Android 14-based One UI 6 as their last major OS update are mentioned below. In contrast, there are a few devices that are not mentioned within the list, as there’s no exact and official information as to whether they will receive the next Android 15 update or not.

Samsung has confirmed that a few Galaxy devices have been significantly removed from the February 2024 SMR because they have reached their deadline for receiving further security patch updates. The following list includes Galaxy devices:
