OPPO Reno 10X receives RAM Expansion Feature via new OTA update

OPPO has released a new software update for the Reno 10X Zoom smartphone. As per the changelog, the firmware introduces a RAM expansion feature wherein the extra internal storage space can be used to virtually expand the device’s RAM. Users can choose from 3GB, 5GB, and 7GB of RAM options.

The virtual RAM feature uses the internal storage of the phone like RAM, offering flexibility and speed whenever required. The same feature has now been pushed to the 2 year’s flagship smartphone, the OPPO Reno 10X Zoom.

Circling back to the Reno 10X Zoom, the firmware that brings the several system fixes and RAM expansion to this Snapdragon 855-powered smartphone has version number CPH1919_11_F.44, requires a download of 1GB, and is currently seeding in India.

Interestingly, this virtual RAM can be tweaked from the settings of the device. In order to expand the RAM, you need to do the following after updating the software. 

  • Go to settings
  • Find RAM option, Click on the RAM option
  • Select the expansion toggle and select the RAM size

If you owner of Oppo Reno 10X Zoom in any of the countries mentioned above, you can manually check for the update on your phone by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install.
