Wear OS 4 Is Coming & Bringing New Apps, Features, And Improvements

Google is always ahead in bringing new features to its devices. In 2022, the Galaxy Watch 5 lineup was launched with the Wear OS 3.5 release platform, although the build did not bring any noticeable new features or improvements compared to WearOS 3. Google teamed up with Samsung to announce Wear OS 3 alongside the Galaxy Watch 4 series. Now, Google is now working on Wear OS 4, the “next generation OS for wearables,” which will debut this year.

WearOS 4 is Coming soon to Wear OS, so you can check your schedule in Google Calendar, keep in touch with friends on WhatsApp, improve battery life, and introduce cloud backups to the platform, helping you securely transfer data and settings between watches, and more.

WearOS 4 New Features, Apps, And Improvements

As far as customization goes, it’s no surprise that Google has partnered with Samsung to bring a new way to create watch faces for Wear OS smartwatches. This will allow developers to develop Wear OS watch faces in a declarative XML format without writing any code. The process will automatically optimize watch faces for battery and performance.

Apart from this, it will also bring support for Google Home, so you can see in your notifications who rang your Nest doorbell, unlock your door remotely, and more. Also, with the new development, you can access two Google Workspace favorites, Gmail and Google Calendar. Quickly reply to your email in Gmail, and check your schedule, view and RSVP to events, and update task status in Calendar.

On the other hand, these regular platform updates keep Wear OS watches like the Google Pixel Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch running fast, secure, and with long battery life. For more info, click here.
