In August 2022, OnePlus announced OxygenOS 13, based on Android 13, and revealed some of the key features of the update. During the event, OnePlus also announced the OxygenOS 13 rollout timeline. OxygenOS 13 was first launched on the OnePlus 10 Pro with the open beta program, and since then, the company has been steadily rolling out the Android 13 update to supported devices.
Like other smartphone users, OnePlus users are also waiting for the latest Android 14 update, which will carry Android 13. However, we do not know the exact dates when all Android users will be able to use the latest operating system. But we finally know when the flagship OnePlus 11 handset will support it.
Last year, OnePlus was the first smartphone brand to roll out the Android 13-based OxygenOS 13 update for its smartphones after Google, leaving behind other smartphones such as Xiaomi, Samsung and others.
Going back to the OxygenOS 13 roadmap, the Chinese tech giant started the Android 13 Developer Preview program for the OnePlus 10 Pro in early May 2022 and the first public beta in August 2022. Later, the OnePlus 10 Pro received its first stable OxygenOS 13 build in September 2022.
OnePlus will likely follow the same timeline for OxygenOS 14 as it did last year. This means that you can expect Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 beta activity for the latest flagship smartphone to begin in a few weeks because the company has already started the Android 14 beta developer preview for the OnePlus 11.
As per the previous timeline, the company will introduce the OxygenOS 14 feature at the next device launch event. Recall that last year, the company announced OxygenOS 13 and its features and improvements at the OnePlus 10T launch event in early August. During the event, OnePlus will also share the beta and public rollout timeline for its eligible smartphones.
After the launch event, we can expect the company to begin the OxygenOS 14 public beta rollout for the OnePlus 11 and other flagship devices, followed by mid-range devices.
