The Samsung Digital Key supports new Car models [List]

Samsung has enabled the Digital Car Key function on some of its flagship models. Recall that this technology allows for example to improve the accuracy of object tracking systems and is able to transform a smartphone into a real digital key to open your car.

Initially, the latter feature was only supported by Genesis GV60 but the Korean giant promised that it would expand the list of cars that can exploit it and it seems that important progress has been made in this regard in the past few hours.

According to what is reported by TizenHelp , in fact, the functionality of the digital key can now also be exploited with some of the vehicles of two other major car manufacturers such as BMW and Kia .

Among the new vehicles that support this function we find the following:

  • BMW 1 to 8 series
  • BMW X5 to X7 series
  • BMW Z4
  • BMW i4
  • BMW IX3
  • BMW IX
  • Kia Niro
  • Genesis G90

As for Genesis GV60 and G90, both UWB and NFC modes are supported on both models while for all the other cars on the list only NFC mode is supported.

With the digital key feature, Samsung users can lock or unlock their car, open the trunk, start the engine, adjust seats and mirrors.

At the moment the Digital Car Key function only works on some Samsung models:

  • Galaxy S22
  • Galaxy S22+
  • Galaxy S22 Ultra
  • Galaxy S21
  • Galaxy S21+
  • Galaxy S21Ultra
  • Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
