An IP, or Ingress Protection Rating, highlights how well the smartphone can be protected against solid and liquid ingress. This is a standard mark for the device, which certainly indicates its protection against dust and water. In terms of the V30 Pro, which has IP54 ratings, the first digit following an IP rating denotes the protection against solid (fine dust) particles, which is 5, making the device dust-resistant.

On the flip side, the second digit in an IP rating is for protection against liquid (water) ingress, which is 4, and makes the device just water resistant. The V30 Pro can easily handle water splashes from any direction, but the device is water-resistant and not waterproof.
