Google Play Services September 2023 Update Adds Pin Protocol Support For Fido2

As we enter a new month, Google is back with another Play system update in the month of September 2023. Google Play System Updates ensures that Android devices (including phones, tablets, Android TV and Google TV devices, Android Auto-enabled vehicles, Wear OS devices, and Chrome OS devices) are updated monthly with new features and improvements. Therefore, they do not require separate updates from the smartphone manufacturer. They bring improvements to the Play Store and Play Services, which are announced through monthly update notes.

Google Play Services September 2023 Update:

September 2023 Google Play Services is adding PIN protocol support for Fido2 on the Android platform. Speaking of Wallet improvements, this update brings new email preference settings. With this feature, users enable better card management in Japan,

Finally, this update brings upgrades to system management services that improve network usage and privacy. Additionally, it also changed the terms of service for auto updates in the setup screen.

The new settings page makes it simpler for you to manage your survey choices, and preferences will be arriving through Google Play Services v37.4. In contrast, all the other features, including Pin Protocol support for Fido2, New email preference settings, and more, will be pushed via Google Play services v23.35.  

To Install the latest Google Play Services update

  • Navigation to the System Settings
  • Now, tap on the Apps section
  • Find Google Play Services and tap on it
  • Now click on App Details, which will take you to the Google Play Store.
  • If you see an update button here, tap on it.
