A month ago, Telegram brought up a new update and several enhancements. On its 10th birthday, Telegram introduced a new stories feature within the channels, allowing users to grant their favourite channels the capability to post stories; both the users as well as channels will be able to add reaction stickers to their stories, which allows users to respond with even more emojis in a single tap.
Now Telegram is again here with its latest update that allows users to quote their particular part of the message while replying, send their replies to other chats in the app, add quote formatting to any text, configure link previews, select a colour for your account and much more.
Telegram 6 New Features: Here’s How To Use
Reply Revolution
Telegram introduced replies in 2015, offering people an intuitive way to have complex conversations in chat for the first time. Other messaging applications have adopted this significant standard, while Telegram pushes the boundaries even further.
With this latest update, users will now be able to quote a particular part of any message by making their response entirely accurate. Tapping a quote will focus on the exact location in the original message with a beautiful animation. In order to Quote a message, Tap the message and then hold and drag it to select text and choose “Quote”.
Furthermore, you can now easily send replies to other chats if you want to reply privately or want to move the conversation to a different group or channel. Tapping on the reply from another chat will open the message in its original chat in case you are permitted to access it. To reply within a different chat, tap on the reply bar above the input field, choose the Reply in Another Chat option, and then finally select your desired message where you want to send it.
Adjustable Link Previews
Telegram was the first messaging app to add detailed link previews, which show the title, description, and media for the page. At the same time, this latest update offers users unprecedented control over the link previews in their messages. Users can easily change the media size; please select whether the preview appears above or below their message and choose which link to preview in case there are multiple links. To open the links has become a lot easier since you can now tap anywhere within the preview area.
Quote Formatting
In addition to quoting others directly, users can now add quote (citation) formatting to any text, including multiple quotes within a single reply. To make formatting options easier to access, Telegram has also improved the context menu.
Reply, Formatting & Link Settings
Whenever you reply while forwarding messages, including links within the replies, or doing all three at once, you can now access all settings using a new tab in the menu.
Account Colors
Through Telegram Premium, users can customize their accounts even further than ever by selecting a colour or combination for their account. This update will change the colour of your name within all the groups, any link that you have sent, as well as replies to your messages.
In addition, users can now choose an icon that will be used as a pattern, which will create a unique background behind their messages when other people quote or reply to them. To set an Account colour on an Android device, open Settings >> Chat Settings >> Change Name or Color. In iOS, head to Settings >> Appearance >> Your Name Color.
Do note that these settings are also available for channel features.
Story Improvements
Within this latest update, Stories on Telegram will now allow users to fast-forward and rewind videos. To do so, hold down on the screen and slide either right or left.
Whereas for even better and brighter selfies, users will now be able to use the front flash, with flexible settings to add Warmth and Intensity to their selfies. Now, to adjust the warmth and intensity of the front flashlight, just hold the “lightning Spark” icon while using the front-facing camera for their story.
Additionally, if you are opening Telegram stories for the first time, you will be able to see a quick tutorial covering all their basic browsing gestures.
