Instagram Lets You Play Voice Messages Up To 2x Speed

How irritating is it when you are in a hurry and have to listen to a full audio message without being able to fast play on Instagram? Thanks to Instagram for adding the new feature to enhance the users’ audio messaging experience. Yes! Now, you can easily play voice messages at 1x, 1.5x, and 2x. Seems very interesting. Let’s take a closer look at this feature.

Instagram recently has announced lots of new features at the moment which are in the developing stage. And now the brand, without even any announcement or notification, has rolled out a new part of ‘Fast Playback’ for voice messages. With this feature, the company is offering the ability to the users to listen to their voice messages at 1x to 2x speeds, so they can easily listen to messages faster on both regular and forwarded messages. 

Voice Messages Then Vs Now 

Voice messages have made it quick and easy for people to have more expressive conversations and make the conversation alive. Previously, users had the ability to record voice messages and send them. Conversely, when they receive any voice message by tapping on it, they can only listen. 

Now, with this feature, if the users have sent any voice message, then after sending, they can listen to their message at different fast playback speeds, which are 1x, 1.5x, and 2x. On the flip side, when they receive any voice message that is slow enough, and they want to listen to it fast, then by tapping on the right corner of the message while playing, the voice message automatically starts playing more quickly as per the selected Speed. 

However, this feature is the latest for Instagram, but not for Meta because this feature already exists in WhatsApp. Apart from this, more features are in the developing stage, and soon, like this ‘Fast Playback on messages’ feature, the company will roll out future updates silently.  

For enhancing the voice message experience, there are more features under development; however, there is no official announcement when these features will come to be known, but it is expected that they are on the way, and they are as follows; 

• Out of Chat Playback: By this, the users can listen to their voice messages even outside of their chat. This means once the users play their voice message, then they no longer need to stay in the conversation to listen to the message; they can multitask, and the message keeps on playing. 
  
• Pause/Resume Recording: With this feature, the users, while recording their voice message, can pause their recording and resume when ready. 
  
• Draft Preview: With this feature, the users, before sending their voice message, will get the ability to listen to it. 
  
• Remember Playback: This feature seems too convenient because if the users pause their voice message while listening and suddenly leave the chat, then when they return to the chat, the message will start from the same place where they have stopped.
