“Messages by Google” is an essential unit of Google’s workspace, and now the brand has silently renamed it to “Google Messages.”
However, the ‘by Google’ portion in Messages by Google basically only came to be used by companies, carriers, and other officially-aligned marketing material.
For instance, the YouTube video recapping the big updates of last year was titled “Messages by Google – New features and a new look coming your way.”
Generally, this messaging app is as famous among users as Google Messages. But now the brand has officially turned it into “Google Messages.”
The users just called it “Google Messages”, and that is finally now the name in the Play Store listing.
Before this renaming change, the big home screen redesign paired the four-color “G” with “Messages” placed at the top-left corner of the application bar.
Whereas this messaging application is still just named “Messages” on Android devices. And it appears that it remains to be seen whether “Phone by Google” will be getting a ditto update to Google Phone.
