How Many Software Updates Will POCO F6 5G Get?

Software updates play an essential role in the device’s functioning, and people want to keep their phones as long as possible, especially when the customer has paid a hefty price. That’s where these software updates come to the rescue, as they are an integral aspect of keeping the phone so that it works its best and as long as possible after its purchase.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO has unveiled a new model, the stunning mid-range POCO F6 5G. The smartphone features some of the best specifications, but knowing its software update policy could be a better idea if you are a POCO lover or wish to buy a POCO device.

Every Android brand offers a dedicated software update policy, according to which the brand provides major OS and security patch updates to its devices. It’s impressive that today, Android brands have started upgrading their software update policy, while Google and Samsung have set an incredible benchmark, promising massive seven years of software update commitment to their models.

Owing to this, several other Android partners have started to upgrade their software update policy. However, most POCO phones usually see two years of overall software support. Meanwhile, POCO upgraded its policy this time and, beginning from its X6 lineup, offered three major OS updates and four years of Android security updates. At the same time, the latest POCO F6 5G is promised to get 3 generations of software updates and 4 years of Android security updates within its entire shelf life.

Since the new POCO F6 has arrived with Android 14, out of the box, the phone will receive its 3 generations of major OS updates until Android 17, while it will get its Android security updates for 4 years until 2028.
