Xiaomi Ends Software Support For Four Devices Belongs From Redmi & Poco

Xiaomi has announced four flagship smartphones joining the queue of devices that will no longer get any software support. All of the announced four devices belong to the Redmi and Poco family. According to Xiaomi’s EOL listit is revealed that four devices are on the End of Life (EoL) list.

List Of The Device Which Will Not Get Software Support Any More

  • Redmi 9 Prime
  • Redmi 9C NFC
  • Poco M2 Pro
  • Redmi K30 Ultra

All of the smartphones included in the EOL list are affordable and mid-range budget models that have completed their software upgrade period. All of these devices will no longer grab any security patches as well as significant Android OS upgrade support anymore. Every company has its policy, according to which it is decided which phone will get how many software updates.

The brand does its best to provide continuous security patches for its smartphones, covering the brands of Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO as well. The security patches normally include the bugs, known issue fixes, vulnerabilities, and other security enhancements. Consistently, the brand will maintain the security updates up to two years after the first shipment of a particular device model.

All the device names mentioned above have received updates to a certain extent, so now they will not get updates. The breaking off of software support by the brand means possible threats to the security of users and the security of the user’s data. The devices will not receive patches for fixing the security vulnerabilities, which attackers could benefit theoretically.
