The instant messaging app WhatsApp has been constantly working on offering users the best possible features and capabilities that certainly help them in one way or another. It brings username feature to search by direct user’s name.

One such ability is to introduce the capability to search for a person with a username.

WhatsApp has recently rolled out yet another beta update for Android users that says that the service has been currently working to bring the ability to search for a person with a username.

In other words, users will now be able to search for a person with their username within their contacts.

According to the update shared by WABetaInfo, who spotted a new change in WhatsApp beta for Android, WhatsApp has been currently working on bringing the facility to search users by their usernames.

This latest update is rolling out through the Google Play Beta Program through a new 2.23.25.19 version number.

However, it’s not yet available to beta testers, as it’s under development, and it’s expected that it will roll out soon.

In the meantime, currently, users can only type either a person’s phone number or their name in the search bar while searching for someone. But with the latest update, they will soon be able to search for a person with their usernames as well.
