How Many Software Updates Will Galaxy M55 5G Get?

Samsung has significantly taken a step further in retaining the top spot and becoming the best brand in the smartphone industry. Soon after the seven-generation software update commitment to its latest Galaxy S24 series, the brand upped its commitment. It’s not the matter to fret for other mid-range phones, including the Galaxy M55 5G, as Samsung will offer long-term software updates. But how much and for how long? Here’s all you need to know.

Samsung usually promised three generations of software updates to its eligible mid-range and other flagship Galaxy models, but soon after the arrival of the 2022 model, the Galaxy S21 series, the brand significantly upped its software update policy, which promised around four generations of software updates and five years of security patch updates for all the recent Galaxy phones within the mid-range and flagship category.

Similarly, the Galaxy M55 5G, the brand’s recent launch, is completely eligible to get long-term software updates and security patches, as the brand promises that the phone will get four generations of software updates and five years of security patch updates, respectively, while also making it highly capable of being refreshed with certain new features and enhancements for its entire shelf life.

Samsung has shipped the new Galaxy M55 5G with the Android 14-based One UI 6.1 out of the box. The latest Galaxy M55 5G is eligible to receive four generations of OS updates until Android 18, while it will get its five years of security patches until 2028.
