OPPO is going to launch new Reno series smartphones, and the possibilities are taking hold that the next OPPO mid-range of the OPPO Reno8 series will be the first smartphones to be equipped with Qualcomm’s brand new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC.
For some time now we have been talking about the next mid-range smartphones of the Chinese manufacturer OPPO , or the OPPO Reno8 : we do not yet know for sure how many smartphones the new series will be composed of (we are talking about at least three models) but we begin to learn some information about technical specifications of these smartphones.
According to what was reported by the Digital Chat Station leaker , OPPO Reno8 will be the first smartphone equipped with the unprecedented SoC Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 that Qualcomm should unveil, together with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ , in the month of May. The information, however, also covers the other members of the family that could host a high-end MediaTek Dimensity SoC and the proprietary MariSilicon X chip (seen on the recent OPPO Find X5 ), a neural processor for image processing.
On OPPO Reno8 the leaker has gone into more specifics, revealing the model code (PGAM10) and what could be its peculiar specifications; we report them below:
- Display – 6.55 ” OLED display with FHD + resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate
- Processor – Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC with Adreno 662 GPU
- RAM – LPDDR5 RAM memory
- Storage – UFS 3.1
- Front Camera – 32MP
- Main Camera – Triple rear camera ( 50 + 8 +2 MP ) with Sony IMX766 main sensor
- Security – Fingerprint reader under the display
- Battery – 4500mAh battery with 80W fast charging support
A final note must be made on the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC : this should be produced with a 4 nm production process (perhaps produced by Samsung ) and equipped with an octa-core CPU with maximum operating frequency at 2.36 GHz , consisting of from four Cortex-A710 power cores (@ 2.36 GHz) and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores (@ 1.84 GHz), and the Adreno 662 GPU .
According to all this information, the new OPPO Reno8 , Reno8 Pro and Reno8 Pro + (these should be the names of the three smartphones) could be presented at the turn of May and June, immediately after the announcement of the new SoC by Qualcomm .
