OnePlus April FAQs: From App-Specific Refresh Rate to AI Eraser Issue Answers

Since April ended, the brand has been here with yet another round of monthly FAQs. OnePlus has gathered all the most Frequently Asked Questions based on the latest version of its operating system, from some functionality improvements to bug fixes, to help you out with all your queries. 


OnePlus April FAQs: 

Question- 1: How to reduce standby power consumption at night?

Answer: This could be due to the network connectivity and applications running in the background. Following the steps mentioned below, you can enhance the power consumption at night:

  • First off, enable the sleep standby optimizations.
  • Clear all the apps from the background that will not be used before sleeping. 
  • If the phone is in an area with weak signals, the phone will frequently search for the network and significantly increase power consumption. (it’s advisable to turn off the network if not necessary)
  • Turn off WiFi and your mobile data while asleep or turn on aeroplane mode.

Question- 2: How can the screen refresh rate of third-party apps be adjusted?

Answer: By following the steps mentioned below, you can easily adjust the screen refresh rate of the third-party apps:

  • Head to the Settings app.
  • Enter into the Display & brightness option.
  • Here, choose Screen Refresh rate.
  • Finally, tap on the App-Specific refresh rate.  

Question 3: How to adjust the App-Specific Volume?

Answer: To adjust the App-Specific Volume, follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Go to the Settings app.
  • Tap the Sounds & vibration option.
  • Then, choose the App-Specific Volume option. 

Once turned on, you need to press the volume button to adjust the sound when a supported app is playing. The App-Specific Volume feature is currently available and used on the OnePlus 11, 11R, 12, and the OnePlus Nord 3 models. 

Question 4: White screen after switching to TikTok background

Answer: Although this problem is from the TikTok side, if you are facing the problem of TikTok automatically switching back to the homepage from the background and also displaying a white screen, one thing you can do is simply clear TikTok from the background and reopen the app to restore the app’s data. 

Question 5: When using an AI Eraser, it displays “Elimination failed. Please check the network and try again.” How can this problem be solved?

Answer: The AI Eraser requires a proper yet stable network connection to perform image inference and processing properly. To do this, you need to check whether your WiFi or phone’s network is turned on and functioning properly. 

If there’s no problem with your phone’s network connection and you are still facing the same issue, then you can try following the steps mentioned below:

  • Head to your System Setting 
  • Then tap on the Application Management option.
  • Here, choose the System Applications option and tap on System Services.
  • Now, tap on the AI Service Engine interface to grant the application declaration. 
  • Finally, return to the Album where you use the AI Eraser and try again.

Question 6: Why can’t I use the AI Eraser on my phone?

Answer: The availability of the AI Eraser feature is supported in some countries and regions. If your SIM card is detected from a different country or region where the feature is unavailable, you cannot use the feature on your phone, even if your phone is compatible. 

In case your phone is unable to use the AI Eraser feature even after it’s compatible, then try following the steps mentioned below:

  • Connect your phone to a network.
  • Close the photo gallery app.
  • Now, open Settings >> Other Settings >> Language and Region >> Region >> then set your region as a target region.
  • Then, being in the Settings app >> tap Applications >> Application Management >> three dots at the top right corner >> display system applications >> search for AIUnit/ AI service engine >> Click on AIUnit/ AI service engine >> tap on Save Occupation >> then, Clear data >> finally Delete.
  • Now, head back to the desktop and wait for 5 seconds. Then, enter the photo album >> tap Edit >> Here, you will see the AI Eraser entry.

Question- 7: Why is there an uneven display, vertical stripes or colour deviation in low brightness or dark mode?

Answer: you will notice a minor color deviation and uneven display in low brightness or dark mode, a characteristic of AMOLED screens. While being low in brightness, the AMOLED screens might perform weaker. Meanwhile, it can be assured that it will not affect your device’s normal daily screen usage. Also, the brand further stated that it is constantly looking to enhance screen technologies so as to enhance user experience.
