OnePlus Is Kicking Off Its Second OxygenOS 14 Alpha Version, Supports Drag & Drop Of Selected Text

After releasing the first Alpha Version of the OxygenOS 14 a couple of weeks ago, the Chinese tech giant has recently started rolling out a second Alpha version of the OxygenOS 14 for the OnePlus 11, its version of Android that’s based on this year’s Android 14 release. Key features of this next revision are a simplified design and more customization options with support for dragging and dropping selected text.

OxygenOS 14 Drag & Drop For Selected Text

Thankfully, the OxygenOS landscape is about to change with OxygenOS14. As per the latest report, there is a new multitasking trick in OxygenOS 14 that will improve the multitasking experience of OnePlus devices. Known tipster Techbee has spotted this feature in the latest Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 alpha version that lets you drag and drop text between two apps.

In the Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 alpha version, you have to long-press text with one finger, then hold the selected text and use the other finger to perform system navigation gestures. This will eliminate the need to keep two apps in split-screen mode to drag and drop files between those apps.

OxygenOS 14 Other Features:

Moreover, this update also comes with minor changes in the About device’s Storage section. Now, it will see the full storage, and you will use storage in the progress bar. Plus, After installing this update, the predictive back gesture works only for Google-related applications. Other OnePlus stock apps are not supported.

On the other hand, this update also fixes many issues affecting the OnePlus users after installing the first build. The update also fixes issues related to the notification bar, app animation, shelf card display, screen blurring during games, and flashback issues when switching modes while taking photos.

Changelog:

System

  • Improves system stability.
  • Fixes an issue where messages on notification bar cannot be deleted or set.
  • Fixes an issue that apps are opened directly without transition animation in certain scenarios:
  • Fixes an issue where shelf cards display abnormally
  • Fixes an issue where screen blurs during part of games.

Camera

  • Fixes the flashback issue while switching modes during taking photos.

The new OxygenOS 14 Alpha update or OnePlus 11 comes with the OxygenOS firmware version CPH2447_14.0.0.41 (EX01). It seems to fix issues being unreachable in some areas, and it seems to be limited to OnePlus 11 users in India. It is expected that OnePlus will release the OxygenOS 14 beta update sometime later this week or next week with more bug fixes.
