OnePlus 11R, And 10 Pro Android 14-Based OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 1 Update Rolling Out

OnePlus released Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 1 for its devices just last month. After the OnePlus 11, OnePlus Pad, and OnePlus Nord 3, the Chinese tech giant is extending OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 1 to OnePlus 11R and OnePlus 10 Pro smartphone users.

The OnePlus 11R was launched during the company’s Cloud 11 event in February. The flagship-level Android phone from OnePlus comes with OxygenOS 13.1 based on Android 13 with some custom customizations. Now, as promised, the Chinese brand is rolling out the first OxygenOS 14 Open Beta for OnePlus 11R users in India. 

Whereas, the OnePlus 10 Pro was launched with OxygenOS 12-based Android 12 and has now received its second major Android update. The firmware based on Android 14 brings several security, privacy features, performance, and design updates.

Via its community page, OnePlus on Tuesday (October 17) announced the rollout of OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 1 for the OnePlus 11R and OnePlus 10 Pro. According to the post, Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 Open Beta 1 is available for the OnePlus 11R and 10 Pro smartphones in India.

To install OxygenOS 14 open beta, users need to ensure that their smartphone is running on OxygenOS 13.1 with the version below. The phone’s battery level must be above 30 percent and it must have a minimum of 4GB of storage space available for the download. This program is limited to the first 5,000 users individually.

  • Adds the File Dock feature that allows you to drag content from the dock to other apps and across devices.
  • Improves cloud photo service by Google Photos

Security and privacy:

  • Improves photo and video-related permission management for safer access by apps.

Performance optimization:

  • Improves system stability, the launch speed of apps, and the smoothness of animations. 
  • Adds support for app-specific refresh rates to improve user experience.

Aquamorphic Design:

  • Upgrades Aquamorphic Design with a natural, gentle, and clearer color style for a more comfortable color experience.
  • Adds Aquamorphic-themed ringtones and revamps the system notification sounds.

User Care:

  • Adds a carbon tracking AOD that visualizes the carbon emissions you avoid by walking instead of driving.
