Emoji Reactions Are Available On Gmail, Know How To Use Them?

Emojis offer an interactive way to react to someone’s messages in no time. Every social media platform, be it Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp, allows users to respond through emojis, but not Gmail. However, Google is now bringing emoji reactions to its email service, Gmail. Here’s how you can use them on your Gmail.

According to the reports, the new Gmail emoji reaction feature is currently available for Android devices and tablets. Gradually, it will be rolled out further to iOS and the web. Also, the emoji reactions will be available for every Gmail message present in your inbox.

Moreover, when you open an email, scroll down, and you will see a new option for emoji reaction. It’s placed to the right of the Reply, Reply All and Forward buttons. By tapping on the option, a row of emoji will appear so that you can choose from and react to it. Finally, just tap on your desired emoji.

In addition, you can also add more emojis in case you wish to add more options to your reactions by hitting the “+” button located at the end of the row. Each reaction you make to an email will be visible at the bottom. While tapping and holding on to each emoji will provide you with the list of people who used that specific emoji.

Do note that the emoji reaction feature is not available for work as well as school accounts, and it will be unavailable if you have sent an email to more than 20 people. Apart from this, emoji reactions will not work in Gmail if the sender has set a custom reply-to address or if the message is encrypted.

How to use the emoji reaction feature on Gmail?

  • Add emoji reaction Below the message, tap Insert emoji.
  • From the selector, select the emoji you want to use.
    • To display more emoji, select More.
