The newest Z9 5G has been significantly brought up with several impressive features and boasts the best possible specifications that can be more than enough to catch the customer’s attention. Despite all the key features, it’s too important to know whether the newest iQOO Z9 is waterproof or not.

Android devices come with a lot of impressive functionalities and features, one such feature that’s going on trend nowadays is waterproof capability. The majority of smartphone makers have been significantly trying to sport an IP rating within their devices, while iQOO is no exception. The brand has recently unveiled its new device, the iQOO Z9, with several impressive features, and on top of that, the device is also IP-certified.

The iQOO has offered an IP54 rating to its new mid-range Z9, which makes it a dust- and splash-resistant device. As an IP, or Ingress Protection Rating, which is a standard mark given to a device when it’s being tested against both solid and liquid ingresses. The solid ingress is for fine dust particles, and the liquid ingress is for water, respectively. So, in terms of the iQOO Z9, the IP54 rating means that the first digit in an IP rating is 5, which means that the device is dust-resistant; in other words, the new iQOO Z9 is protected against fine dust particles.

On the flip side, the second digit following the IP rating is 4, which is considered the least amount of protection against liquid ingress, which means that the Z9 is capable of handling a few water splashes but not submersion in water. In other words, the new iQOO Z9 is a water-resistant device and not waterproof.
