Android Auto Lost Support For Calling App ‘Viber’

Android Auto’ , a smart driving partner, helps in staying focused, connected, and entertained with the Google Assistant while driving. For upgrading its functionality and features the brand delivers updates on the regular basis, so the users don’t face any kind of inconvenience. But sometimes the update not only brings new convenient features, but also drops down the support for many features. And this time it’s turn for the calling app Viber. 

At the moment Android Auto has lost the support for the calling app named ‘Viber’. However it seems that it is probably a temporary measure. Viber is a voice-calling internet-based service which has been around for a long time. The service is currently owned by Rakuten, and it introduced support for Android Auto in recent years but the time has changed  , no longer being based on Online service for users. 

The recent reports are revealing that according to a growing thread on Google’s support forums captures multiple reports of the application having disappeared on Android Auto, without even any reason and explanation. 

Meanwhile, Viber has evidently explained in a Play Store review reply to one affected user that support for Android Auto was removed intentionally but is only temporary and due to “technical reasons.”  regarding to this change Viber’s stated that; 

Hello! Due to technical reasons, we have temporarily disabled support for Android Auto. We apologise for the inconvenience. We will inform you when this feature will be available again in our app.” 

Meanwhile, it is not officially clear yet whether Android Auto has lost the support for the calling app Viber, temporary or permanent. Let’s see in the future updates.
