Telegram has always introduced interactive tweaks and features that significantly improve the user experience. With top-class features and upgrades, this instant messaging application has upped its ante again and introduced more than 15 new features, including recommended channels, My profile, Birthdays, channels on your profile, and much more.
The Channel Recommendations
With the latest update, Telegram’s search interface will now have a new Channels tab that shows all the channels you follow. The Channels tab also consists of a list of channel recommendations by other content creators. However, you will get the channel recommendations based only on those topics of channels you have subscribed to.
Add your Birthday to your profile
Now, users can add their birthdays to their profiles, which will notify all your contacts that it’s your birthday. When your contacts visit your profile on your birthday, they will be greeted with some animated confetti and balloons to let them know that it’s your birthday today. On the flip side, a new birthday banner will appear on the top of your chats when it’s someone else’s birthday from your contacts. You can also give them a Telegram Premium by tapping the birthday banner.
You can easily add your birthday to your profile, which will only be visible to your contacts. Also, you can easily control your birthday privacy by going to Settings >> Privacy and Security >> Date of Birth.
A new My Profile section
The latest update adds a new My Profile section, allowing you to view your profile as it appears to all your contacts. You can now pin up to three stories on the top of your profile page.
Add your channel to your Profile page
You can now add your channel to your Profile page. With that, a detailed preview of the latest post you posted on your channel will be significantly placed just above your bio on your profile page. Others can easily get to your channel with just a single tap.
Easily share your live location
Now, users can easily share their live location with their contacts or an entire group chat. This will allow others to follow in the footsteps of your journey in case they want to visit the same place you are about to reach. Also, if you want to add more time to your shared location, now there’s a new option that will allow you to share your live location indefinitely, which means others can easily track your every single movement until you turn the location sharing off. In order to share your live location, tap on the Attachment menu of any of the individual chat or a group chat >> Select Location >> “Share My Live Location for….”.
Collectible usernames on your Profile
If you have a collectable username, you can now link it to your profile. Meanwhile, tapping on the collectable username will open up information like when and how much it was acquired.
Easily control notifications for message reactions
Now, users can control their notifications for reactions to messages on Telegram, and this feature also integrates reactions to stories. This new setting is available when you tap Settings >> Notifications and Sounds >> Reactions.
Moreover, several other features have been introduced by Telegram within the latest update, including Profile Pictures in the Forwarded Messages, Animated Emojis in Polls, multiple moderation actions for groups, much improved Recent Actions, Managed reactions for Channel admins, the option to not to hide ads, Open the stories Anonymously, swipe up gesture for the next topic, Instant views for websites, and rewards for creators.
