But it is studied that attempts to move on the far side of two applications at the same time have most of the time results in a bit of messing up. Now the OnePlus is taking its steps for stretching the area of multitasking by a new feature called “Open Canvas.”
OnePlus recently launched its first foldable device, the OnePlus Open. Along with this device, the company also introduced the convenient multitasking system named “Open Canvas”, which is a strong mechanism to use multiple applications at the same time. And now the company is bringing this facility to the OnePlus Pad.

“Open Canvas” uses a different approach for multitasking as compared to Android usually does. In the era of split-screen and pop-up views in the past, OnePlus created a new software named the Open Canvas, by which the company made it possible to intuitively swipe between multiple applications even in full screen mode along with simple gestures. Now the game-changing convenient software is coming to the OnePlus’ bigger screen device, the OnePlus Pad. The company has confirmed on Reddit at AMA, that it is ‘working on’ bringing Open Canvas software to the OnePlus Pad.
Basically the OnePlus’ Open Canvas is a multitasking system, it permits the users to open apps in a split-screen view, similar to other foldables. Apart from this, the software will also store active apps outside the viewable screen space. The users have to swipe left/right, or Up/down, which could reveal more active applications.
The owners of OnePlus Pad can easily use Open Canvas by following the steps mentioned here;
- Open any first application.
- Now drag it with two fingers downwards in the middle of the screen.
- Click the second application.
- Click on the app folder.
- Drag and drop the third application onto the bottom of the display.
- Click on the pill and three dots menu for resizing and moving windows.
- Click on the Save option as application group to save layout.
