A couple of months ago, in February, Google announced to redesign the Google Assistant by bringing the Google Lens-powered Search Screen feature that replaces the What is on My Screen features completely. Gradually, Google will now bring the Google-Lens powered Search Screen feature for Android smartphones.
Earlier, it was seen that the Lens option was only available to appear on some particular screens, which resulted in the inconvenience of this feature. In particular, you will need to have Google Assistant-enabled and expect that it launches the Google Lens shortcut. However, with the latest update, the Search screen option is consistent on Google Assistant.
Screen Search:
The Screen Search feature checks your current search and provides you with several results using Google Lens. It is worth noting that the Google Lens has recently been updated, offering several tweaks within the app, including the light theme. The Lens also includes several filters which have available are:
- Translate
- Text
- Homework
- Shopping
- Places
The latest Google Assistant screen search feature has already been rolled out for several Pixel smartphones running the newest Google beta app of version 14.31. However, this feature is yet to roll out on all devices, and according to Google, the Screen search feature will roll out for all devices globally in the upcoming months.
Apart from the latest screen search feature, there are a bunch of new features which have arrived on the Google Assistant. These features include the introduction of the two new voices, Lime & Indigo, search for images, screen phone calls for fraud, get suggestions and more.
