Apple Is Testing 3-D Printing To Manufacture New Apple Watch

Apple holds an event in September almost every year where the brand traditionally introduces a new set of iPhones. This time, Apple’s iPhone event will take the floor on Tuesday, September 12. There’s tremendous excitement in the fan community for the upcoming event, where the brand is set to announce its following iPhone lineup, which is undoubtedly the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro. Apart from this, it could also launch new wearables with the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.

As per the news, Apple is accepting its latest mobile models and experimenting with a new manufacturing process that utilizes 3D printing. According to Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, it is stated that the brand Apple is busy testing a new 3D printing method for the steel version of the upcoming Apple Watch Series 9. The notable point is that this does not matter a lot for the end users because they will be getting the same product. Still, this will prove revolutionary for Apple, optimizing time, funds, and resources while building its products. Even though most of these welfare items will arrive later down the queue, this improvement will also work out for the brand’s sustainability efforts.

With a multiplex procedure like this, it is not something Apple started doing overnight, and according to Gurman, the company has been expanding this process for at rock bottom three years. It is expected that Apple will be using 3D printers to manufacture the frame of the non-Ultra Apple Watch devices. This would save Apple extensive time and resources since they would not have to cut large metal blocks to create particular parts of the watches.

While Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 will use this latest method, the brand won’t entirely shift to this new procedure until next year. Moreover, the reports indicate that if this manufacturing method is successful, then the process could be enquired into some of its other goods later.
