Samsung Galaxy M34 5G: A Comprehensive Review of Features and Performance

In the same month, Samsung launched Galaxy M34 5G in India. This phone is a mid-range Android smartphone with a slightly modified version of the Galaxy A34 5G. Now, Samsung continues to push the boundaries of innovation with the new Galaxy M series. The Galaxy M34 5G offers an impressive 50 MP OIS camera, 6000mAh battery, 120Hz Super AMOLED display, 4 years of OS upgrades, and 5 years of security updates.

Here in this article, we are giving a review of its usage. It is a good device under mid-range with performance, battery, daily usage, design, rear camera, and more. The new Samsung Galaxy M34 has been significantly improved over its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy M33, making it one of the most exciting smartphones of this year. 

Also, it is a modified version of the Galaxy A34 5G, which is a slightly more expensive model. It features excellent features under the sub-20K price segment. But, it cuts down on some parts of the Galaxy A34 5G, including the IP67 dust and water resistance rating.

Samsung recently launched its Galaxy M34 5G smartphone in India. The base variant of the smartphone costs Rs 18,999. At the same time, the higher variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at Rs. 20,999 on Samsung.com and Amazon. in. But you can avail of it with an instant discount of Rs.2000 on some central banks’ credit/debit cards, and the phone is available at a price of Rs. 16,999 for the base variant. The phone has three color options: Midnight Blue, Prism Silver, and Waterfall Blue.

Galaxy M34 5G Design:

Samsung Galaxy M34 sports a slim, simple, clean, and sleek look with a plastic back housing three circular camera lenses, which makes it comfortable to hold in your hand. The rounded corners and elegant camera housing, along with its quality bezels, give it an aesthetic appeal.

On the right side border, the phone has a Fingerprint (side-mounted) and a power volume control button, and on the left-hand side, it gets a hybrid nano sim card tray. At the top, you can find the secondary mic, while the bottom houses the primary mic, Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and primary speaker grille.

Samsung Galaxy M34 5G features a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, which provides you with a comprehensive and immersive viewing angle in bright outdoors, vivid high-definition, and true-to-life color. Additionally, thanks to the 120Hz high refresh rate, you can enjoy seamless gaming, smooth browsing, streaming, and more with a cinematic viewing experience.  

Plus, the phone screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, like the other flagship Galaxy, to ensure your device remains protected from scratches. With this display, the image is simulated for representational purposes. However, the actual visibility could be better due to the rounded corners and camera cut-out. 

Galaxy M34 5G Camera:

The Galaxy signature design handset features a triple camera setup, including a 50 MP (F1.8) Primary camera, 8 MP 119° (f2.2) Ultra wide camera, and 2MP (F2.4) Macro camera. 

The 50MP No Shake Camera OIS (Optical Image Stabilization ) camera lets you click detailed pictures and videos even on the go. Plus, you can take clear and bright pictures even in low light. Furthermore, The camera module houses a multi-lens camera system; This mobile phone lets you take professional-level pictures. It also comes with 13MP (F2.0) wide-angle selfie camera.

Galaxy M34 5G Performance:

Samsung Galaxy M34 5G is powered by a 5 nm octa-core monster ultra-fast processor, Exynos 1280 chipset, seen on some Galaxy A series devices, which should allow you to handle heavy-duty multitasking. Overall, this processor is good, but the company had to make some improvements in gaming. Exynos 1280 is better than the Snapdragon 695, but you may notice some hitting problems during g=havey gaming.

The phone also comes with up to 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB of internal storage to easily save your photos and videos. Plus, you can use a microSD card for up to 1TB of expanded memory storage whenever you feel like you’re running out of storage space.

Galaxy M34 5G comes with up to 16GB RAM Plus feature; you can switch between apps instantaneously with the Advanced RAM Expansion Technology. The 8 GB variant can be expanded up to 16 GB

Galaxy M34 5G Battery & Charging:

Galaxy M34 5G is powered by a 6000mAh battery that ensures long-lasting battery life, enabling the phone to last up to two days of streaming, light gaming, sharing, and more. Like the other Galaxy smartphones, the phone comes with 25W fast charging and takes around 1.5 hours to charge the phone from 0 to 100 percent fully.

This 5G phone also comes with an adaptive power-saving feature; You can enjoy better battery performance. On the other hand, the charger does not come in the box. Now, you are good to go if you have a Type-C charger. Otherwise, you will need to buy a new charger from Samsung.

Galaxy M34 5G Software Support and other features:

Samsung’s new Galaxy M34 5G mid-range run on Android 13-based One UI 5.1 software update will eventually receive four major OS upgrades up to Android 17 and five years of security update. This One UI 5.1 version improves on One UI 5.0 in several ways in various areas, including Camera, Gallery and AR Zone apps, Widgets, Modes and Routines (aka Modes and Routines), Samsung DeX, connectivity features and more.

Plus, advanced 4-Gen OS upgrades supported phones come with a smart Samsung Wallet, allowing customers to utilize performance tickets, make payments, and submit IDs. It also comes with a Voice Focus feature, which improves voice quality during calls. Also, the brand claims it delivers clear audio from both the caller and the receiver.

Final Verdict:

The overall performance of Galaxy M34 5G in this price segment is good with its processor, battery, display, software support, and more advanced features like 5G connectivity, Samsung Wallet, Voice focus, and strong Knox security. On the other hand, the phone lacks a few aspects, like the IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, and there is no charger in the box.
