WhatsApp is rolling out a new beta update, by which it is offering a new update called “Secret code for locked chats. The update has its unique version number, v2.23.24.20; by this version number, users can easily identify the update. However, for now, the update is in the developing stage and only available for some of the lucky beta testers, and soon, the brand will roll out this update widely. Interested users can get it through the Google Play Beta Program.

Once the company rolls out this update widely, the users will see a new settings section within the list of their locked chats, and it offers the users the option to hide the entry point to open locked chats. Particularly, after configuring a secret code, the entry point for viewing the locked chats will no longer display in the chat list.

In place of this, within the chats tab, the users can get access to these chats by entering the secret code into the search bar. The users must note that some of the beta testers may also be able to get another feature that permits them to quickly clear the list of their locked chats right within their privacy settings. With this update, the users can easily hide or remove the entry point to the locked chats list, so others would not be able to easily identify or access the locked conversations.

As mentioned above, this new secret code feature is still developing and is only available for beta testers. But it is expected that soon the company will make these new features accessible to all the users.
