According to the report, the cumulative production of mobile phones in India has crossed 2 billion units under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The “Make in India” slogan refers to a campaign to promote the manufacturing of products, especially mobile phones, in the country, with more and more brands betting on India to set up their factories, making the country one of the world’s leading ones. Samsung:

According to information, Samsung is one of the brands that has invested the most in manufacturing its mobile phones in India. Note that the company’s second-largest factory is also in India, specifically Noida. Apart from the factory, the brand established a critical Research & Development center in Bangalore.  

Chinese brands:

With the Make in India mission, some Chinese tech giant brands are investing the most in manufacturing their mobile phones in India, one of them being Xiaomi. The OEM has multiple production plants for mobile phones and smart TVs in the Indian region. Alongside India, Xiaomi is officially present in these 37 countries.

Besides Xiaomi, another Chinese brand manufacturing in India is OPPO, which has had a large factory in Noida since 2016 and is looking to make the Asian country its global export hub in the coming years. Apple:

Indeed, the Tata group has already acquired Wistron Corp’s assembly factory in Karnataka city for around $600 million, which is the key Apple supplier. The brand employs over 10,000 workers and has assembled the latest iPhone 14 models.
