According to reports shared by WABetaInfo, spotted with the latest WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.24.11.18 update, WhatsApp has started working on a brand-new capability that will significantly allow community admins to transfer their ownership to another member of the Community quickly.
Meanwhile, when the community admin transfers ownership to another member, the user will no longer be an owner. This means that the community owner agrees to surrender all its privileges regarding the responsibilities within the community group chats, including the ability to deactivate the entire Community. However, it’s important to note that the admin assigning a new owner will remain a Community admin, though another admin can demote the older admin or remove them from the Community.
A new feature for the Community members to view all the media shared within the Community
Furthermore, WABetaInfo further shared that, as spotted with the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.11.20 update, WhatsApp is currently on a roll testing a new feature allowing users to view all media shared within a community. This feature will give community members an overview of all the images, videos, and other media files shared within the Community.
The ability to see all the media shared within the Community will be more helpful for the community members as it will centralize all the media at one place, ensuring members can easily search for all the media, significantly eliminating the need to go to specific group chats to view the media content.
Moreover, the latest features for WhatsApp Communities, including the ability to transfer ownership to another community member and the feature to view all the media shared in the Community group chats, are currently under development. Hence, both features will be available in the upcoming update of WhatsApp.
