Samsung Galaxy A55 5G Review: Is the device worth it? 

Although customers usually pay more attention to Samsung’s premium flagship Galaxy S series or the Galaxy Z lineup, they tend to forget that Samsung’s A lineup comes with the most incredible features and advancements while also being in the budget-focused category. As with every passing year, Samsung has made a lot of changes within its highly-admired A series. With that, the Korean-bound phone manufacturer has just brought up a new Galaxy model, the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G, which is considered a perfect successor to the A54 5G and is now becoming everyone’s choice within the premium mid-range phone range of Samsung. 

No doubt, the Galaxy A55 5G has arrived with several stunning features and specs. It’s a little confusing whether the specs are literally worth it or not, as every specification looks amazing on paper, but the real result comes from the practical analysis. So, here’s a detailed review of the latest Samsung Galaxy A55 5G—whether this Galaxy model is worth it or not.

Galaxy A55 5G Design: 

One of the most prominent factors in any phone is its design. Well, design-wise, the new Galaxy A55 sports a premium design, which gives it an elegant and astonishing look and feel. With the glass-back finish, it does give you a premium look. The phone comes with a metallic frame. On the back panel, the phone is equipped with the iconic triple camera setup, with Samsung etched at the bottom. 

On the flip side, coming to the ports and buttons, the Galaxy A55 comes with a speaker grill, a Type-C charging port, and a microphone at the bottom, a noise-canceling microphone with a SIM card tray at the top, a power button and volume rockers at the right side, and there’s nothing on the left side of the phone. The phone is much more durable as it’s protected with Gorilla Glass on its back panel. 

Galaxy A55 5G Display: 

With regards to the display, the Galaxy A55 features a big 6.6-inch super AMOLED FHD+ display panel with up to 120Hz of fast refresh rate, while the bezels are super slim, which provides more immersive content viewing with a bigger display screen. The display is very well protected with the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, which significantly makes the device scratch-resistant, so you don’t have to worry about keeping your device with coins in your pocket or backpack. The display produces some vivid and vibrant colors, along with stunning details and an enhanced viewing experience.

Galaxy A55 5G Camera performance:

The phone is equipped with a triple camera setup that has been arranged in a similar vertical manner as its predecessor. There’s a 50MP main camera with OIS support, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro camera, respectively. The camera allows you to get some amazing pictures even in low-lighting conditions. The picture quality was amazing, and the pictures did not turn out to be grainy or noisy after being captured. Through the rear camera, I was able to shoot videos in 4K at 30 fps. On the flip side, in the front section, there’s a 32MP selfie snapper, through which I was able to capture some stunning selfies without any noise or quality drops.

Galaxy A55 5G Performance: 

Now comes the performance; most prominently, the Galaxy A55 5G is being powered with the latest and Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1480 chipset, which is bound to offer a powerful yet incredible performance with low power consumption. The chipset is packed with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage, allowing you to store thousands of your files, photos, videos, applications, and other essentials without having to worry about storage running out. On the flip side, the phone has arrived with the latest Android 14-based One UI 6.1 out of the box, which means you will get to see all the latest enhancements and new features. With its stunning display quality and chipset, I was able to have certain gaming seslag or frame drops. 

Galaxy A55 5G Battery and charging capacity: 

The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G packs a large 5,000mAh battery life with 25W wired chargingWith normal usage, you can easily use the phone for two days, and with heavy usage, it can last for at least an entire day. So you don’t have to worry about its battery drainage even after performing heavy gaming or multitasking. 

Galaxy A55 5G IP Rating?

Yes! The Samsung Galaxy A55 5G does come with an IP67 rating; it’s a dust and water repellent device, which means that the device can easily withstand water drops over it without causing any harm to the device for a certain period of time.

Galaxy A55 5G Connectivity: 

With respect to connectivity, the phone has both LTE and 5G connectivity support. Also, for wireless connectivity, the A55 5G has Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth v5.3 connectivity support, with all the essential 5G bands fully supported in India. 

Is the device worth it? 

After analyzing the features practically, the Galaxy A55 5G has been packed with some important features and specifications in a balanced manner. Looking at all the positives, from its stunning display to its proficient cameras and powerful performance and battery, the phone is definitely worth it, and you could consider buying it if you are looking for a perfect mid-range device that has all key features perfectly balanced.
