Open AI’s ChatGPT continues its legacy of being the most successful generative AI service, and it looks like the initial increasing growth isn’t really fading out as Open AI plans to bring more new features for over 100 million users within the platform.

ChatGPT is now used by 100 million users every week, the statement was announced by OpenAI’s CEO at its first-developer conference on Monday. At the conference, it was stated that in less than a year, ChatGPT had become the fastest-growing AI service and hit 100 million weekly users. At the same time, the company now boasts a massive percentage of over two million developers, which includes the majority of over 92% of fortune 500 companies.

Not only that, OpenAI even announced GPTs, which is a new option for the users to create custom versions of ChatGPT, combining instructions, expanded knowledge, and any combination of skills for any particular case. The examples include a “creative writing coach”, “a technical consultant” to help troubleshoot problems, a “Laundry Buddy” who can answer particular queries about certain stains, and “Game Time”. Which will be used to help learn board and card games.

Furthermore, OpenAI also announced “GPT-4 Turbo”, which gives an updated knowledge base and more power, although it’s 3 times cheaper for the actual use of the developers. The new Assistant API can also use the GPT’s AI power within the apps and call on certain tools, such as a Code interpreter.

According to OpenAI, “Anyone can easily build their own GPT—no coding is required. You can make them for yourself, just for your company’s internal use, or for everyone. Creating one is as easy as starting a conversation, giving it instructions and extra knowledge, and picking what it can do, like searching the web, making images or analyzing data”.
